Last Day of School

May 29, 2020

Dear Parents,

Today is the last day of school for our class!  It has been an honor and a pleasure to be your child’s kindergarten teacher.  It has been a wild ride!  Finishing off the year with 17 Zoom meetings will certainly be memorable.   I miss this class so much, but I hope they will visit me in 1st Grade (and every other grade) I am so proud of all the work they did in Kindergarten.

We have a very long break.  For some students (B, C, and D track), school starts again on Thursday, July 16th.  A track students will start in August.   It would be very easy for the students to get out of practice over a 10- or 16-week break, so it would be a good idea to do some name writing practice and alphabet and number writing practice.   The most important thing to do with your student is to read to them every day and have fun during the break.

I have sent home the partially used and unused workbooks.  They would be good practice over the break.  They shouldn’t be done all at once.   Knowing the students in this class, many of them will find the pages fun to work on.

If you need extra copies of the memory video, or you need it in a different format, let me know.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions. My email address is steve@howekinder.com.   I have posted end of the year photos at http://howekinder.com

and  http://facebook.com/howekinder .    You do not have to be a member of Facebook to look.  My cell phone is 916-799-4497.  I prefer that you text or call me at my cell number.    If I am not available, please leave a message with your phone number and the best time to call, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Thank you for your support and patience during this challenging year!

Sincerely,

Steven Howe
