I hope everyone is staying healthy and doing well. I miss all of my students and look forward to seeing them very soon. I just found out that we will be out of school for the next 3 weeks. I know it is a very difficult time for everyone. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
Usually I introduce Lexia Core5 to families around this time of year. It is a fun online resource that figures out a students strengths and weaknesses in Language Arts, and then gives them practice in areas they need. It is important that your child works without any help while using Core5. If you help them answer questions, it won’t help them as much. Let them struggle a bit! If it is too hard, they should take a break. Not all students have great mouse skills, so they may test a little lower than their actual ability. But that goes away pretty quickly.
Lexia Core5 does not work on phones. I do believe it works on tablets with the Core5 app. It definitely works on PCs and Chromebooks.
To login to Lexia Core5 on a PC, you can use chrome to get to lexia.howekinder.com
The login/user ID is the students ID @egusd.net… for example 556xxxxx@egusd.net
The password is L3x1@pass
If you are using the Core5 App, it may ask for my school email address, which is srhowe@egusd.net
